This training course, a module from our Business IT Diploma With Personnel and HR diploma course, provides your first step into the fast moving world of the Human Resources department and a job in personnel or HR as it is more commonly called.

You'll learn the basics of employment law and strategy.

To get the most out of this personnel course, you'll need experience of using Windows, Word and Excel to proficient level together with Access. Some experience of using the Internet and Mail Merge will also be useful.

You'll need to invest approximately 12 study hours at our Croydon training centre where you'll cover 4 in-depth lessons.

What Is Covered.

Lesson 1:
The importance of the Personnel Department, company case studies, methods of recruitment, methods of applying for jobs, reviewing application forms.

Lesson 2:
Legal responsibilities as an interviewer, preparing for interviews, setting up an interviewee database, questioning techniques.

Lesson 3:
Preparing for a new employee, inducting a new employee, understanding the need for training, what to include in a training session.

Lesson 4:
Contracts of employment, personnel records, terms and conditions of employment, disciplinary action, procedures for dealing with leavers
